- Petro alleges that election authorities removed key metadata, timestamps, document identifiers, and other digital verification features from polling-station documents (E-14s), impairing independent verification of the results.
- He is demanding production of system logs, hash values, version histories, and protocols, and is seeking either full annulment of the results or a new canvass, forensic audit, and targeted recounts.
- Petro has publicly claimed that 177,000 votes for de la Espriella came from overseas voters, especially in the United States, and has alleged “algorithmic electoral fraud.”
- He has pointed to alleged vulnerabilities in election software previously flagged by a 2018 Council of State ruling and shared videos purporting to show altered hash files.
- President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella is scheduled to be sworn in on August 7, though he earlier suspended the formal transition process known as “empalme.”
- A joint statement by members of the Shield of the Americas, including the U.S. State Department, expressed deep concern over efforts to cast doubt on the election without substantiated grounds and called for respect for the official results and a peaceful institutional transition.
