- Fox News has been the only major network pressing prominent Democrats on whether they support key DSA platform planks such as defunding the War Department, nationalizing corporations, and abolishing the presidency, the Senate, and the Supreme Court.
- Rep. Ro Khanna, who has endorsed several DSA candidates, simply replied, “I haven’t read the proposal.”
- Rep. Ilhan Omar refused even to acknowledge the reporter asking about the platform.
- House Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar said he is “not a member of the DSA, so I can’t comment,” yet added he is “not at all worried” about far-left socialist candidates and looks forward to working with them.
- Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez gave an incoherent answer when asked about eliminating the Senate, eventually saying she does not support elements of the institution “founded on Jim Crow.”
- Only Texas Democrat Henry Cuellar has openly rejected the DSA, calling its platform radical and warning that the group is using the Democratic Party as a vehicle while hiding its true agenda behind popular issues such as affordability and housing.
- An I&I/TIPP Poll shows that even most Democratic voters reject the DSA’s core proposals, yet party leaders continue to treat the organization as a legitimate partner rather than a radical faction.
- The editorial board argues that mainstream media silence is allowing the DSA to advance its agenda unchecked while Democrats pretend the extreme positions do not exist.
