A Virginia elementary school teacher has been charged with child sex crimes, including producing and distributing child sex abuse material. The teacher was arrested and charged with the crimes on October 15.
Miranda Stewart Janeway, who taught third grade at David A. Harrison Elementary in Prince George, County Virginia, was arrested on Tuesday this week and is being held at the Riverside Regional Jail without bond, per ABC 8 News.
Janeway has been charged with knowingly possessing child sex abuse material, producing or making child sex abuse material with the subject being under 15 years of age, distributing child sex abuse material, as well as taking indecent liberties with a child as one who has been given a supervising role.
“To hear that it’s — come on, a teacher? That shouldn’t be something that even crosses our minds,” a parent who wished to remain anonymous told the outlet. “I thought she was a nice teacher, [a] good teacher and good for my son.”
