- Commentator Emzari Gelashvili noted the plan mirrors the 1936 Soviet constitution’s “unity of power,” which rejected separation of powers as a bourgeois superstition and made the government and judiciary fully subordinate to the legislature.
- The DSA platform also demands amnesty for all immigrants, an end to all deportations, free migration without border controls, voting rights for noncitizens, universal rent control, and defunding the Department of War.
- DSA member and Islamic activist Linda Sarsour has called for replacing the Declaration of Independence with a new document that reflects “our values.”
- Dearborn, Michigan, now has a majority-Muslim population, Muslim city officials, a Muslim police force, official Muslim holidays, and Arabic signage in major retailers including Home Depot, Walmart, Costco, and Kroger.
- A 2015 poll found that 51 percent of Muslims in the United States believe they should be allowed to govern themselves under Sharia law rather than American civil law.

- In Hamtramck, Michigan—the first American city with an all-Muslim government—officials banned Pride flags from public property, revealing potential future friction once the current anti-American alliance achieves its goals.
- Both movements currently unite against common enemies but historically have shown that revolutionary forces often turn on each other after seizing power, or may temporarily meld under shared authoritarian aims.
