Rep. Brandon Gill has said that America would be a better place if Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who is a naturalized citizen of the US originally from Somalia, would be deported. He cited that Omar has been teaching “illegal alien Somalis how to evade ICE.”
Gill appeared on Fox, where he made the comments. “What I said was that America would be better off if she were deported. Let me tell you, for the past four years, Joe Biden and the Democrats—herself included—have facilitated the invasion of this country of 15 million illegal aliens,” Gill said.
“What she is doing now as a sitting member of Congress, is teaching illegal alien Somalis how to evade ICE. We have illegal aliens right now murdering and raping and pillaging our people with virtual impunity, and that is because of lawmakers like her, who are facilitating this invasion,” Gill added.
Gill had written a petition, calling for Omar to be deported from the country in reaction to reporting on the workshops where she was teaching immigrants tactics in order to evade immigration enforcement. She then appeared on CNN, where she claimed that the petition from Gill was “red meat for his base” and then said that his base of supporters is “xenophobic and racist.”
Omar is one of the founding members of the informal progressive “Squad” coalition, which was originally made up of Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Omar herself, Ayana Presley, and Rashida Tlaib.
