Another young athlete has passed away.
A Northern Iowa swimmer passed away on Wednesday at the age of 21.
“UNI has lost a beloved member of the Panther family with the sudden passing of Lily Ernst,” UNI athletics director David Harris said in a school release. “This loss is heartbreaking for our swimming and diving team, our athletic department and the entire UNI campus.
