At first, digital IDs are promoted as convenience and security – making life easier, preventing fraud, and modernizing services. But when government holds all the keys – your money, your health, your travel, even your ability to speak freely – it opens the door to control and punishment at the flip of a switch.
Digital IDs and CBDCs may feel like dress rehearsals, conditioning people to accept government-controlled systems. But they are not yet the mark itself. The mark will be about worship and allegiance, not simply about data or finance.
