The Alleged Murder-for-Hire Plot

Stephanie Demetrius, a 44-year-old substitute teacher, has been arrested and charged with conspiracy. The accusation is that she tried to hire a juvenile student to carry out a murder-for-hire plot against her husband. Law enforcement officials allege she promised the student $2,000 to commit the act. The very idea that a teacher would allegedly involve a student in something so horrific is hard to believe.

So, how did this alleged plot come to light? According to reports, the student’s mother discovered information about the plan on her child’s phone. She immediately turned the evidence over to the police. It’s alleged that Demetrius even gave the student a $250 down payment. The police also have a recording of a phone call between Demetrius and the student, which the student’s mother handed over. Investigators are looking into whether there were any other communications outside of school related to this.

The intended victim in this alleged murder-for-hire plot was Demetrius’s husband. Reports indicate that they are now separated.

A History of Violence

This isn’t the first time Demetrius has been accused of violence toward her husband. Police reports show a history of alleged incidents. She had a protection order against her, but repeatedly violated it.

Here’s a list of some of the alleged acts of violence:

  • She allegedly tried to run him over with a car.
  • She allegedly stabbed him.
  • She allegedly set his house on fire.

It’s important to remember that these are allegations, but the police reports paint a disturbing picture.

The Legal Proceedings

Demetrius was arrested on Tuesday night. She appeared in court this morning, facing a conspiracy charge.

The judge set Demetrius’s bond at $150,000. Conspiracy and attempted murder-for-hire are serious charges. If convicted, Demetrius could face significant prison time.

Sergeant Fukqua commented on the case, highlighting the disturbing nature of the alleged plot. He said, “This case essentially it’s a murder for hire plot something you would see on TV where a teacher at a school is grooming a young person to the point where she believes she can convince this young person to kill her husband for mere thousands of dollars and it sucks right it just absolutely sucks no matter how you look at it no human life should ever be valued with some type of dollar amount.” He added that police couldn’t say how the alleged murder plot was to be carried out.

Disclaimer: Stephanie Demetrius is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
