A former member of the Freedom Caucus is helping lead a political action committee whose goal is “stopping MAGA” by ousting some of the House’s most conservative members.
The group, Mission Democracy PAC, even intends to challenge such members in super conservative home districts – running ads and messaging campaigns that accuse them of anti-democratic and other extreme positions, according to The New York Times .
The group reportedly has just over $500,000 in the bank but has ambitions to raise $18 million for the 2024 election cycle.
The former Freedom Caucus member is ex-Virginia Rep. Denver Riggleman, who has since left the the Republican Party; former Trump administration official Olivia Troye; and Marcus Flowers, an Army veteran and Democrat who lost by 32 points last election season in his bid to oust Georgia GOP Rep.
