- Operation Broken Blade, a joint federal-local effort, executed over 20 warrants and identified 51 victims, some as young as 14.
- Suspects, many career criminals with prior convictions for robbery, kidnapping, and burglary, face racketeering, sex trafficking, money laundering, firearms, and narcotics charges.
- They allegedly recruited runaways and foster children via social media, using violence, intimidation, and drugs to control victims.
- HSI Special Agent in Charge Eddy Wang called it a “decisive blow” against exploiters.
- This is the second round of the operation targeting the notorious Figueroa Corridor; the first resulted in 11 arrests.
