Following Monday morning’s tragic school shooting at the Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin, law enforcement officials held multiple press conferences, disclosing information regarding the shooting, the victims, and the suspected shooter.
Initially, officials were tight-lipped regarding the identity of the shooter as the investigation got underway. By the time of the afternoon press conference, Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes disclosed that the suspected shooter was a teenage student at the school and was one of the three deceased, though he also indicated that the shooter was deceased upon law enforcement’s arrival at the scene and no officers fired their weapons.
Barnes also indicated at that time that a search was being or had already been conducted at the suspected shooter’s home, indicating authorities had been in contact with the family and implying that they were cooperating with the investigation.
