Republicans in the U.S. Senate have introduced new legislation to divert funding from Democrat President Joe Biden’s Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to help secure America’s porous Southern Border.
On Wednesday, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) introduced a bill that would divert $15 billion in taxpayer cash from the IRS to border security.
The proposal would take money from the $80 billion in new funding for the IRS that was approved in the Democrats’ radical Inflation Reduction Act spending bill.
Senator Scott’s “ Securing Our Border Act ” would specifically fund border inspections to allow law enforcement officials to better combat the illegal trafficking of drugs and other substances before they enter the United States, according to the Daily Caller .The bill would also fund border wall construction and other technologies to help with tracking and enforcement efforts along the southwest border.Additionally, the legislation would give retention bonuses to Border Patrol agents and end […]
