Look into SmartLA 2028. It is a plan laid out in 2020 promoting LA to be a Smart City comprised of numerous 15-Minute cities. One of the primary areas developers and the city need for this initiative is Pacific Palisades. Currently, the Palisades is zoned R1. SmartLA needs it to be R1 and primarily, R3 which permits multi-unit, multi-family dense residential zoning. There have been at least 3-4 “suspicious” fires there over the past 5 years or so. Most of them arson by homeless people. Last week’s Kenneth fire has already been confirmed arson. Speculation is brewing that the Palisades fire may also be arson. It would be an extremely sinister thing for these fires, or at least just the Palisades fire, to be deliberate to pave the way for SmartLA 2028 to break ground in that neighborhood.
